Why it’s hot: This quick-serve spot is near to and owned by Brophy Bros., the famous seafood restaurant in Santa Barbara’s boat-filled harbor. You’ll either take your food to go or dine at picnic tables outside, which is fine if you’re walking or biking around the beach. Open for a few years, the restaurant is popular for breakfast, lunch and early dinner.
Must-order: The OTA Burger, topped with caramelized onion, fried jalapeño, avocado, jack cheese and a fried egg; fish tacos; Brophy’s famous clam chowder; crab cake burger; soft-serve ice cream treats.
Insider tip: In case you’re on the road, a second location recently debuted in the Camino Real Marketplace in nearby Goleta. It doesn’t have the charm of the harbor, but it does have the chowder.
